Locker Protocol Wallet vs Keplr

Two browser wallets for the same dApps. The difference that matters most is where the private key lives: in the browser with Keplr, on a separate offline device with Locker Protocol Wallet.

Locker Protocol Wallet is our product. Facts about Keplr were checked on its official site, documentation and store listing on 2026-09-25.

About Keplr

The wallet of the Cosmos ecosystem: more than forty Cosmos SDK chains with IBC transfers and staking, plus Bitcoin and Starknet in the same extension. Its code is public under Apache 2.0, and its documentation still labels EVM support as beta.

Where Keplr does better

  • Staking and IBC transfers across Cosmos chains, built in.
  • Signs with a Ledger or a Keystone, and installs on Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

Limits

EVM support is still in beta, and the fee on its built-in swap is not published.

Why people move from Keplr to Locker Protocol Wallet

The key never touches the computer

Malware, a malicious extension or a drainer on the computer has nothing to steal: every signature happens on the offline device, after you have read the transaction there.

The dApps you already use

It answers the connect flows built for MetaMask, Keplr, TronLink and Freighter, and appears in the Wallet Standard list on Solana, Sui and Aptos, across nine chain families.

Every request checked twice

Rules and an on-device model flag risky approvals and phishing before you sign, in the browser and again on the device that holds the key.

Moving from Keplr in three steps

1

Install the extension

Add Locker Protocol Wallet to Chrome or Brave. It can sit next to Keplr while you move.

2

Set up the offline Vault

Install the free Locker Vault on a spare phone, keep it offline, and create a new recovery phrase there.

3

Send your funds across

Send from Keplr to your new addresses at your own pace, starting with a small amount.

Keplr vs Locker: questions people ask

Is Locker Protocol Wallet a good Keplr alternative?

It is if you want the key off the computer. Locker Protocol Wallet works with the dApps you already use, but every signature is approved on a separate offline device by QR code. If you mostly want one-click signing, Keplr stays faster.

Do dApps that support Keplr work with Locker Protocol Wallet?

Yes. It answers the Keplr API that Cosmos apps call, so Osmosis, Stride, DAO DAO, Injective Helix and THORSwap connect to it through their Keplr button, checked against the live sites. It stays beside a real Keplr rather than replacing it.

Can I import my Keplr recovery phrase?

You can, but we recommend the opposite: create a fresh recovery phrase on the offline device and move your funds to it. A phrase that has lived in a browser extension may already have been exposed.

Is Locker Protocol Wallet free?

Installing and holding is free, and so is the Locker Vault app. Swaps and bridges made from the extension add at most 0.25%, and Hyperliquid orders 0.05%, always shown before you sign.
