RUNE is the native token of THORChain, which swaps native assets across chains, such as BTC for ETH, without wrapping them.
Locker Protocol Wallet shows your RUNE balance in the browser and sends every RUNE transfer to Locker Vault, an offline device, to be signed.

Receive and send RUNE
Set up the wallet
Install Locker Protocol Wallet in Chrome or Brave, and Locker Vault on a spare phone kept offline. Your addresses reach the extension by QR code.
Receive RUNE
Give your address on the network the sender uses. The network matters: RUNE sent on one network does not arrive on another.
Send RUNE
Enter the recipient and the amount in the extension and check the network fee, then scan the request with the Vault, read it there and approve.
A transfer is paid in the network's own coin, even when you send a token: keep a little of the coin shown in the table.
RUNE: questions people ask
Which network should I use to receive RUNE?
The one the sender uses. When you withdraw from an exchange, choose the same network in the withdrawal form as the address you give. If they do not match, the funds may not arrive.
Does Locker Protocol Wallet charge a fee to hold or send RUNE?
No. Holding costs nothing and a transfer costs only the network fee. The wallet's own fee applies to swaps and bridges made in the extension, at most 0.25%, and it is shown before you sign.
Where is the private key that controls my RUNE?
On Locker Vault, the offline device, derived from your recovery phrase. The extension on your computer only knows your addresses, so malware there cannot move your RUNE.
