What is a trustline on Stellar and XRP?
On Stellar and the XRP Ledger, a trustline is your account's agreement to hold a specific asset from a specific issuer, such as USDC. Until you add one, the account cannot receive that asset.
Why it matters
Each trustline locks a small amount of the native coin (XLM or XRP) as reserve. Trusting a fake issuer that uses the same asset code is a common scam: what matters is the issuer's address, not the ticker.

Locker Protocol Wallet names the reserve a trustline locks before you approve it, and the offline Vault shows the trustline in full when it signs.
Questions
Why can't I receive USDC on Stellar?
Your account first needs a trustline to Circle's USDC issuer. Adding it is a small transaction and locks a little XLM as reserve.
Can I remove a trustline?
Yes, once its balance is zero. Removing it releases the reserve it locked.
